Estas becas están dirigidas a estudiantes que vayan a cursar el Máster en Física Avanzada de la Universitat de València (o un máster similar donde impartan docencia profesores o investigadores del IFIC) y que deseen hacer su Trabajo Fin de Máster durante el curso 2022-2023. Hasta tres de estas becas deberán desarrollarse en el Departamento de Física Experimental del IFIC, hasta tres en el Departamento de Física Teórica del IFIC y hasta tres en aplicaciones de Física Nuclear y de Partículas.

El objetivo de este programa es introducir a los estudiantes de máster en las actividades de investigación propias del IFIC, facilitando los contactos entre los estudiantes y el personal investigador del IFIC en vista a la posible realización posterior de una tesis doctoral en el instituto. Los temas de trabajo propuestos se encuentran al final de esta noticia, así como la información de los correspondientes investigadores e investigadoras responsables. El becario podrá escoger de forma priorizada hasta tres nombres de la lista de trabajos propuestos.

La duración y el periodo de la beca será de diez meses consecutivos, de septiembre de 2022 a junio de 2023, y se concederá una importe de 7.500 euros, repartidos en 10 mensualidades de 750 euros. El tiempo máximo semanal de dedicación de los beneficiarios de la beca será de 20 horas. Los beneficiarios de estas becas que sean residentes fuera de la Comunidad Valenciana podrán recibir una dotación adicional máxima de 200 euros destinados a sufragar los gastos de desplazamiento a Valencia. El plazo de presentación de las solicitudes se cierra el próximo 20 de junio de 2022.

To this call can apply any research group of the Spanish public universities or public research centres.

Artemisa is currently composed of 23 servers that host one NVIDIA GPU Volta V100 each, 11 servers with one GPU NVIDIA Ampere A100 and a server with 8 GPUs of the said model. The servers are especially suitable for computing in artificial intelligence. In addition to these servers, which must be used in “batch” mode, there are two interfaces where the users can previously test their software. Artemisa also boasts a last generation CPU and storage system.

To apply, research groups should use Artemisa’s web site:

The applications will be evaluated by a committee that will take into account the scientific interest of the application, the research group record, the adequacy to the Artemisa’s resources of the computation proposed, in particular the use of artificial intelligence, and the availability of the requested resources. Additionally, the societal impact of the proposal could be taken into account, especially if its objectives are listed in the priority matrix of the RIS3 of Comunitat Valenciana.

La convocatoria se publicó con fecha 12 de abril en el DOGV y contiene varios programas y líneas:

  • Proyectos estratégicos en colaboración
  • Consolidación de la cadena de valor empresarial
  • Compra Pública de Innovación
  • Valorización y transferencia de los resultados de I+D+i
  • Promoción del talento
  • Acciones complementarias

La convocatoria cuenta con un presupuesto total de 50 millones de euros y el plazo de solicitud para las entidades interesadas abarca desde el 13 de abril hasta el 6 de mayo de 2022. Estas ayudas están cofinanciadas por el fondo europeo Feder a través del programa operativo 2021-2027, que contribuirá a la transformación del modelo productivo, en línea con la estrategia de la Conselleria de Innovación, Universidades, Ciencia y Sociedad Digital.

Se espera que la AVI pueda financiar en torno a 450 proyectos, a desarrollar en un máximo de tres anualidades, en función del tipo de programa y las características de cada iniciativa.

En esta convocatoria se incorporan nuevos criterios sociales y medioambientales para la evaluación de las solicitudes, por lo que se tendrá en cuenta la alineación de las iniciativas de innovación con las políticas medioambientales, de igualdad de género y de accesibilidad.

La línea de ayudas destinada a la financiación de Unidades Científicas de Innovación Empresarial (UCIE) en universidades y centros de investigación de excelencia ha sido reforzada en esta convocatoria y contará con más de 5,5 millones de euros, una cuantía nueve veces superior a la consignada hace un año. Esta figura, en la que se enmarca la UCIE del IFIC, trata impulsar la transferencia de conocimiento y el desarrollo de soluciones tecnológicas e innovaciones dirigidas al mercado, como forma de acercar el conocimiento a la empresa.

En esta convocatoria podrán solicitar el uso de la infraestructura todos los grupos de investigación de las universidades públicas y organismos públicos de investigación españoles.

Artemisa cuenta actualmente con 23 servidores que alojan sendos procesadores NVIDIA GPU Volta V100, especialmente aptos para realizar cálculos en inteligencia artificial. Además de estos servidores, que han de utilizarse en modo “batch”, hay disponibles dos interfaces donde los usuarios pueden ensayar previamente sus programas. Artemisa cuenta adicionalmente con un sistema de almacenamiento y de CPUs de última generación. En las próximas semanas se pondrán en marcha 11 nuevos servidores con dos procesadores y una GPU NVIDIA Ampere A100 y un nuevo servidor con 8 GPUs del mismo modelo.
